12.16.2004 2005 Series Permanent Numbers Issued
For the 2005 South Atlantic Road Race of Champions Series (SARRC) Jesse Reed has requested and received number 73 which coincides with his FSCCA chassis number. Jeff Snell had requested number 37 which matches his chassis number, however the number was unavailable. Therefore, Jeff Snell will be campaigning chassis 37 with the competition number 7 for the 2005 season.
11.1.2004 Jesse Reed claims 1st Place in the Annual "Goblins Go" 2004 Double ECR/2005 SARRC.
RSM team driver Jesse Reed started the 2005 season on a high note taking 1st Place among a field of four in class. Qualifying 2nd in class Jeff Snell, driving Chassis #37 again gridded on the outside but was able to move to the inside line before turn one running the first several laps competitively with team driver Reed. Car #19, qualifying 3rd went off in turn one ultimately to finish 4th. An off track excursion by Snell in turn 4 followed by a spin at 14a contesting for second place combined with clutch issues put Snell to a 3rd Place Finish, but was ultimately awarded SARRC points for 2nd as Ugo Tova did not meet SARRC requirements..
Reed, ran a flawless race winning by 39.47 seconds over the second place finisher. Snell finished another 6.6 seconds back. RS Motorsport will be awarded 24 points for Reed's effort and 20 points for Snell's. Each drivers top six finishes will count towards the 2005 SARRC Championship.
10.11.04 RS Motorsport takes 1st and 3rd Place finishes at SARRC Invitational Challenge [SIC] and completes 2004 season with 1st and 2nd Place overall.
RSM team drivers Jesse Reed and Jeff Snell completed the final 2004 season race on Sunday with 1st and 3rd place respectively. Qualifying 2nd in class Jeff Snell, driving Chassis #37 gridded on the outside put two wheels off in turn one of the first lap. While attempting to move back on line the field went deep into the corner leaving no room for re-entry. Ultimately, the error did not play a role in the result as a five car incident toward the front of the field required evasive action on Snell's part that brought him to a stop off track left, between two involved cars. Snell made minor wheel to wheel contact with a stopped competitor directly involved in the incident. Also caught up in the incident were FSC drivers Wally Osinga who qualified 4th and Keith Field who had qualified 1st in class. The FSC running order after lap one was Reed, Osinga, Snell, Field. All were able to continue.
Reed, piloting Chassis #73 steered clear of the incident taking a fast clean line on the inside through turns one and two advancing though the field to assume first position in class. Five double yellow laps ensued while vehicles and drivers were removed from the area. No one was injured. When the course went green Reed further advanced his lead, turning some of the quickest FSC laps of the weekend. Ultimately, none of the other FSC competitors would get close enough to even see Reed who took the checker winning the 2004 SIC for FSC. All 4 FSC participants finished on the lead lap. The traditional "Victory Lap" was not run due to time constraints created by the extended clean up after lap one.
Points earned in the SIC by Snell and Reed resulted in their winning 1st and 2nd overall in the 2004 South Atlantic Road Racing Championship [SARRC] Series. The seasons award banquet is scheduled for January to be held in Jekyll Island, Georgia. Prior to the SIC, Snell held 1st position and Reed held 3rd place in the championship series.

8.16.04 RS Motorsports claims back to back first/second finishes at Carolina Motorsports Park Regional Double held 8/14-15-2004 under threats from two hurricanes.
Team driver Jeff Snell and Jesse Reed traded first and second place finishes at the CMP Double Regional each taking home points for the SAARC series. In Saturday's race Mr. Reed took a decisive victory over teammate Snell making an impressive pass onto the back straight at the midway point. In Sunday's race with both starting from the rear after missing qualifying and practice sessions Jesse Reed made a strong pass at the start gaining two positions over Snell. Snell battled back and using traffic was able to work his way back to the lead just barely holding off Reed multiple times. Both working through lap traffic it was a battle to the end with Snell finishing just seconds ahead of Reed who was also able to hold off the third place FSC finisher.
Jesse Reed recorded a new track record for FSC with a 1:40.939 during the Sunday race with Snell recording a second best track lap record of 1:41.091.

7.13.04 RS Motorsports takes 1-2 finishes in both SAARC double regional events at Barber Motorsports Park.
Team Drivers Jeff Snell and Jesse Reed each claimed a first and second place points this past weekend at Barber Motorsports Park, one of the premier racing venues in the United States. Saturday's 10 lap race was intensified by a turn one crash that left multiple cars unable to continue. Chassis number 73 driven by Jesse Reed was forced to take evasive action which resulted in his move towards the back of the field. Through out the race Reed battled back making strategic passes. In the end Snell held out and took second in class/first in SAARC competition with Reed collecting third in class/second in SAARC competition.
The Sunday 15 lap race was filled with excitement as Formula Mazda #9 made multiple illegal passes during the formation lap. At the start another turn one crash forced Reed to take evasive action again costing positions while the remainder of the field passed. On lap 6 race officials black flagged FM9 for his passing violations using a standing black at start/finish and turn 5. Prior to this event when black flagging a single participant a furled or waving black was displayed and then pointed at the offender. This change caused Snell to perceive a black flag all as he had passed for positions now directly behind FM9. As a result Snell and Reed pitted to observe the mistaken black flag all.
Realizing the situation both returned to course. Snell perceived that his tires were falling off and decided to reduce pace to manage tires for the remaining laps. Reed was able to pass at turn 5 and led for several laps. The checkered flag was announced as Reed/Snell were entering turn 7a. Reed made excellent time through 8, 9, 10 and 11 but had contact that damaged the nose, wing, and front right suspension at 13. Snell closed and with the assistance of traffic attempted a pass at 14a that was unsuccessful. Snell laid back and got a good line through turn 15 carrying more speed than Reed onto the front straight. Snell was able to close on Reed to finish 9/100's behind almost side by side for a spectacular finish with Reed carrying the day and being awarded second in class/first in SAARC points.

Driver, Jesse Reed charged the field over taking the previous events second place finisher after only 4 laps, but a spin in turn 3 cost 4 positions returning the car to third in class. Working lap 6 Jesse was positioned to again claim the second in class position when debris on the track caused by another entrants spin collected the car at the entrance to the front straight. The car was unable to continue. Driver was unhurt with minor vehicle damage.
